We started the original SWITCHED chapter in Columbia, MO through a local charity devoted to helping children in their community that are in the hospital, Pascale's Pals. In our first year we were able to adapt 200 and give them away to over 50 families in the Mid-Missouri area. In order to adapt such a large quantity of toys, we recruited help from students at the University of Missouri and others volunteers from the community. This became a great place to use inter-professional teamwork. We had students and professionals from many backgrounds including: Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist, Engineers, and parents.
